McMillian, International Deputy Chief of Staff for Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., recently was honored at the Mississippi Business Journal’s “Top 40 Under 40” awards luncheon in Jackson, Miss.
McMillian, an Associate Director for Development at Jackson State University, was recognized for his community service efforts and commitment to higher education.
McMillian, who is responsible for managing fund-raising operations at the university, has secured more than $16 million since November 2004.
The Mississippi Business Journal’s annual event highlights young leaders for their achievement in their communities and the corporate field. McMillian was only 26 years old when he earned the award in January.
Phi Beta Sigma, a predominantly African American Greek-letter organization of college and professional men, was established in 1914 on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C..
